About our walks

We have an exciting programme of walks, with at least one every Saturday and Sunday, normally outside of the capital, and also occasional weekday evening walks. Walks are of different lengths and paces so there's something for everyone!

Walks are friendly and informal – it's fine to come on your own or with friends. You don't need to book, or tell anyone in advance that you are coming. Just follow the instructions for the walk, turn up, and join in!

All of our walks are accessible from Central London by public transport, so you don't need a car.

There's usually a pub stop at the end of the walk for those who'd like to stay for a drink.

Want to try us out?

You're very welcome to come along to up to 3 walks to see if you like walking with us.

If you want to keep walking with the group after this, we ask that you join The Ramblers (it's £35.85 for an annual membership, with concessionary rates). Remember to say that you'd like to join Capital Walkers as your main group.

If you join Capital Walkers and opt in to receiving communications from us (and Ramblers), you'll receive quarterly Capital Walkers walks programmes, which means you can plan your weekends further in advance.

Things to remember

  • Sometimes the most simple kit is the best Come with appropriate equipment for the walk, with warm and waterproof clothing, an appropriate amount of food and water, first aid kit, sun tan lotion/woolly hat etc as appropriate
  • Make sure you get to the start of the walk in time - check the train details before you set out.
  • You will be expected to take responsibility for yourself on the day by making sure you have appropriate gear and are fit enough to take part, and by following any instructions given.

We look forward to seeing you on a walk soon!
